Jim played most of our Tennessee Opens, Southern, Virginia Opens, and District 4 Tournaments, some of his last tournaments were 2006 TN Open and 2006 VA Open Photo.htm

Once every couple of years our Burlington Checker Club would accept Len Stokes' Checker Invitational to play the best Watauga /Ashe /Alleghany County players at his guest home in Boone, NC. We would take Mike Ross's wife, "Judy's van" to Boone packed full of checker players. Frankie Stokes would have a delicious home cooked dinner for the group which made these checker tourneys a wonderful experience.
